Closet Shelving Install #Repurpose

My wife April finally got me to build her shelving in the bedroom closet. Quite frankly she has been asking me to do this simple project for well over a year.  I had some beautiful pieces of wood that would work perfectly to giver her three shelves deep in the closet that was basically wasted space.  She wanted room for jeans one one shelf, sweats and athletic pants that she wears all day and has a zillion of.  She works from home so these are what she has on versus dress pants that we stuck up on the top shelf.

You can build the shelving with out shelf brackets by simply using the wood as the brackets that the shelves sit on.  Then screw it all together. 

She already had this little hanging organization thingy that will be used for makeup and her many pairs of glasses that she keeps buying.

Pizza on the Grill

We love grilling in the summer, this was our first attempt at grilling a pizza. We basically made the dough ourselves, followed directions right off of a pizza dough recipe box. Grilled the dough a little bit first then added the ingredients.

This was done at our old house in Saint Francis, look forward to doing a tutorial for you all.  Enjoy!

It was so awesome, we have made pizzas many more times since.

Raised beds and Chicken Brooder Construction

We tilled last night and let me tell you I was so nervous. We rented a rear tine tiller from our local farm equipment shop in town. It was a really tough job for my husband, we could of used a big ol machine to do this and would of been done with little fatigue but at $250.00 to rent for half a day we decided to do it the hard way. Since we are new to farming we have zero stuff. We are thrilled to have a tractor with a trailer for hauling! Hubby then started tilling where the pumpkins would be growing and this posed a bit of a problem being that it was on a bit of a slope. He would not let me put mosquito spray on him and it was hot with zero wind blowing. 

We are a bit behind planting because my poor dog had to have surgery. That is going to be another post so I can vent a bit about the stupid vet that we brought her to the first time. After he finished and let me tell you he was exhausted I reminded him to help me build a brooder for the chicks that will be here today or tomorrow.  I said the words he hates to hear, "You Promised"

I went and found some wood as instructed, I wanted to whip out my new saw but hubby was in a rush. (He was eyeing my office, the love seat, the remote and mommy making him some dinner) :-) This wood was FREE, we found a large deck that was taken apart and we went and picked it up, PRICELESS.

 
We decided to do a 4x4 brooder and afterwards I may use as a raised bed in the front yard for herbs or a cutting garden.

This literally took us 10 minutes at this point.

Chicken Coop Updates

The chickens took a few days to finally venture out but they did! They just kept looking out the exit and seriously were so confused. I was out with them this morning and they were pecking and running.  Hubby did a great job with the nesting boxes and across from them their roosting stations.  Every morning I come out and open the windows and they are all bunched up together.

Still working on the coop but Monday it was ready to house the chickens securely.  The siding is partially up on the front entry, yay, my job this weekend is to use my new saw and get cutting and laying the the siding.  Look for an awesome review for the Rockwell Bladerunner!

Hubby going to put some vintage knobs on these for opening, really easy to get the eggs out!

I have two of these funny little looking ladies.  I think they are the Polish Breed.  I am thinking Buff Laced Polish breed.  I know many of my readers have chickens so please if you know what I have, awesome!

The run was put together on the last day.  It is fully screened on all sides as well as the top.  The bunny hutch and run is not enclosed on top and the bunnies are not put in at night, they come and go as they please basically.  We have never had them attacked.  I think it is the placement of the hutch.  This coop is away from house and not as guarded.  There is a huge tree next to it and several trees and land.  A good place for a predators to come out of.  The locks are all secure with added closures.

I was sitting in the run bonding with the chickens when we heard some major squawking, maybe a hawk or the crazy Blue Jays.  This little lady immediately started getting to higher ground.  They were all aware of the noise. How cute are they?  Okay, heading out now to check on them.

Reclaimed Wood Project

My wife has been wanting a small table for her YouTube channel so this project was down on a fall Saturday afternoon. 

We went out to the barn and found a bunch of old wood that would work perfect.
